Main Street Park

Main Street Park is bustling with visitors and has quickly become the epicenter of activities here in our beautiful City. With the diversity of options, our park offers something for everyone.

The children’s playground is a town favorite, offering a variety of fun activities for the youngsters with conveniently located seating for the adults. We are very proud of our wheelchair accessible swing, which allows all children the opportunity to participate in the fun. The park offers plenty of parking, but also has bike racks and sidewalks for your convenience.

Our perfectly manicured park offers over 1.1 miles of paved trails for both runners and walkers alike. Benches are located along the trail for frequent rest periods. With pollinator gardens, a martin pole and multiple blue bird houses, we encourage people to connect with nature. There is a large grassy area in the center of the park for a variety of activities. Come stroll the park and enjoy the beauty it offers.

We are very excited to tell you about our newest addition to Main Street Park; a 9-hold disc golf course! Baskets have been installed, tee pads are planned, maps and signage are underway. The course, Shiners "9" at Main Street Park, is nearly complete, and IS PLAYABLE! Disc golf rentals are available at Chestatee Regional Library by using your library card.

We have 4 cornhole boards located near our entrance. A picnic table and grill are nearby, so bring your bean bags and your friends for a friendly competition. Bean bags are available to rent from Chestatee Regional Library using your library card. For more information call 706-344-3690.

Our Park offers 3 covered pavilions with ample space to picnic with your family and friends. Concrete pads have been poured, and charcoal grills and coal boxes are available throughout the park. Power will be added soon for your convenience. Pavilions are available for reservation/rental by calling City Hall at 706-265-3256, or filling out a preliminary request. PLEASE NOTE, this is only a request for a date. Once our staff receives your request, you will be contacted regarding availability.

The 14 fitness stations offer our citizens the opportunity to get in shape and enjoy our outdoor facility. Stations 1-4 are located near the assisted living center, allowing residents easy access to equipment. There is a swing located at the rear of this area for rest periods. The other stations are located along the walking trail.

We did not forget about our 4-legged friends! Our dog park offers dogs of all sizes the opportunity to run and play. The fenced facility has 2 sides: one for the little dogs, and one for our larger friends. Obstacles have been added and offer a fun activity for your furry companion. The dog park is located on Memory Lane near the assisted living facility. Cleanup stations are located within the dog park and along the walking path.

We are excited to tell you about the future projects we are working on! The components have arrived, and we will soon be adding a disc golf course. Our staff are currently researching a few new additions for Main Street Park, including a basketball court, pickleball courts, bocce ball, and the possible expansion of our skate park. Staff are researching the purchase of a hydraulic, mobile stage for outdoor events.

In partnership with Indigo Energy, we have added of an EV charging station. The station is located at the entrance to Main Street Park, just inside the gate.

How you can help. There opportunities for you to help expand your park experience. As wonderful as our park is, we are always looking forward to adding new elements. Gift donations and sponsorship opportunities are available. If you or your organization are considering a gift, please browse through our gift catalog for ideas.
